We won’t mind.
For the novices and religious in Cheshire, as we give our life to God, song takes a prominent part in our daily life. From our first prayers early in the morning to the final hour of the day, we express through music our joy of belonging to the Lord and of bringing his love to people.
In the spirit of true Christian worship, we approach God in a variety of styles. Through song, we reflect the different forms of devotion: praise, petition, adoration, thanksgiving, and surrender. We share these musical experiences because, to quote Pope Benedict, “the joy of song and music is also a constant invitation to believers and to all men of good will to commit themselves to give humanity a rich future of hope.” And in hope we can all grow, as we are awaiting the never-ending day when we shall sing in concert with the choirs of angels in heaven.
This year, we are pleased to release a newly recorded album, Our Day in Song! This collection invites you to participate in some of the tunes that resound regularly in our chapel and elsewhere.
It has been a wonderful experience to work with the beautiful voices that study and live in Cheshire. Over the past few years, we have compiled several recordings themed around our spiritual life in Cheshire.
The Eucharist is, perhaps the most marvelous mystery that Christ has given the Church: His own real presence, humble and silent, but yet so powerful, is present in every tabernacle and we can receive him during every Mass. On the occasion of the Year for Priests, the choir of the Legionaries of Christ, formed by novices and humanists at our seminary in Cheshire, Connecticut, presented Bread of Angels, with hymns dedicated to the Eucharist. Timeless melodies of Gregorian chant, combined with polyphonic pieces and a few more recent compositions shall open our hearts to appreciate more deeply the love Christ has for us.
As special features, you will find a Filipino song and the German original of Silent Night – Stille Nacht. An 8-page booklet provides the English translation of all foreign language songs.
This selection of seasonal highlights is meant to inspire joy and prayer to celebrate Christ’s love for us in his incarnation. In addition to your personal enjoyment, the CD is a precious Christmas gift.
Gaudete-"Rejoice" is currently available in limited quanities.
The proceeds from the sale of this CD are dedicated to the sustenance of the seminarians at Legion of Christ Novitiate and College.
