“Christ’s Kingdom grows by us loving others to the point of motivating them to go and do the same. The Kingdom of Christ is like yeast that makes the dough rise. Love for others is that yeast in this world.” This was the message of the homily for the Solemnity of Christ the King.
In the Regnum Christi movement this solemnity marks a special moment of commemoration. On this day we celebrate the experience of Christ the King’s love for us that has moved us to love others as he has loved us, hoping that this in turn will move them to do the same and like yeast we may make the “bread” rise.
We started off with the Celebration of the Eucharist, which included a stellar homily by Fr Jason Smith, quoted above. Then, with the more than fifty Regnum Christi members and friends we had lunch and shared our experiences of having been moved by our King to extend his Kingdom of love.
