"The College of the Legionaries of Christ in Cheshire has been, during many years, a place of prayer where you can have a better chance to hear God’s voice in your life. In the middle of a noisy world, that does not allow us to reflect on the purpose of our lives, most people do not realize that they are thirsting for God. We hope to give others that opportunity to find God in prayer and silence." This reflection by Br José Parra, LC summarizes what the brothers tried to provide to a group of 40 young men that visited during the period o Holy Week and Easter.
During these days, the novices and religious at the Legion’s house of formation in Cheshire, CT hosted a “Test Your Call” retreat for young men discerning their vocation, giving young men the opportunity to experience a bit the life of the Brothers and to accompany Christ in prayer as the Church celebrated the Paschal Mysteries. Guests were able to join the Brothers for all the Triduum liturgies, various parts of the Liturgy of the Hours, and nocturnal adoration at the Altar of Repose on Holy Thursday night.
Fr. Edward Hopkins, LC, the Legion’s national Vocation Director, preached the meditations and talks for the retreat. Fifteen young men attended the retreat from different states and Regnum Christi localities around the United States, as well as six seniors from Sacred Heart Apostolic School in Indiana. The Legion’s summer Candidacy program starts June 15 in Cheshire.
